Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (SATCOM)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States

Basic compensation: $149,400–$186,700 per year.

What you will do

• Lead systems engineering activities for PKMA modernization and integration into the Enterprise SATCOM System.
• Develop technical requirements, Statements of Work, Technical Requirements Documents, Interface Control Documents, and acquisition packages.
• Analyze vendor and contractor inputs and provide technical recommendations to government and program leadership.
• Create roadmaps and dependency analyses for development, integration, testing, certification, and deployment.
• Coordinate cryptographic key management, COMSEC/TRANSEC planning, test strategy, certification, and integration activities.
• Prepare risk assessments, mitigation plans, status updates, executive briefings, and decision-support materials.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of systems engineering experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or national security space programs.
• Experience with cryptographic systems, key management infrastructure, COMSEC, or TRANSEC operations.
• Experience developing technical requirements, SOWs, acquisition packages, engineering documentation, and large-scale system integration efforts.
• Strong technical writing and briefing skills; proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with SATCOM, AEHF, ESS, EHF, strategic communications systems, PKI, KMI, or PKMA.
• Experience with NSA-certified cryptographic systems, acquisition strategy, source selection, or contract execution.
• Familiarity with MBSE/CAMEO, DOORS, Jira, and engineering toolsets.
• Systems engineering or cybersecurity certifications such as INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, CISSP, or CEH.
