Staff Software Engineer (TLM), Multiverse Tech Lead (C++/Python)

Location: Onsite in Mountain View, California, United States

Salary: $238,000–$302,000 USD gross annual base salary, plus discretionary annual bonus, equity incentives, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Lead a 3–5 person Event Insights sub-team focused on enriching, understanding, and managing low-latency metric events.
• Lead development of dynamic event clustering for rapid analysis of emerging issues in simulation and real-world deployments.
• Design scalable event storage and pull- or push-based consumption APIs, including updates from human triage and VLM inference.
• Orchestrate reliable, low-latency interactions with human triage and large VLM inference systems.
• Partner with UI, metrics, infrastructure, product, data science, systems engineering, and SRE teams to deliver actionable event insights and maintain high uptime.

Requirements

• 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience, or a quantitative PhD with 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C++, with familiarity with Python and SQL.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in autonomous driving and Sim+Eval, with willingness to learn.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years in quantitative- or quality-focused engineering and technical leadership.
• B.S. in Computer Science.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems at FAANG scale.
• Experience building software reliability evaluation systems.
