Associate Director, Performance & Portfolio Management (Biotech)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States; 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. A 100% remote option is not available.

Salary: $141,500–$268,500 per year, plus eligibility for short-term and long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Lead the Strategic Management Office performance and portfolio management team, including system owners.
• Develop project charters, status reports, work plans, stakeholder engagement plans, and decision-making models.
• Manage project lifecycles, team accountability, risks, issues, decisions, status updates, and recommendations for senior management.
• Build governance frameworks for resource allocation and investment decisions while supporting compliance with corporate and quality policies.
• Identify and implement operational excellence initiatives, scorecards, dashboards, and recovery plans for underperforming projects.
• Partner with functional leaders and project sponsors to deliver strategic, operations, supply chain, and technology initiatives on time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 10+ years of project management experience and/or business excellence methodology experience within global companies.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional strategic and operational initiatives.
• Proven leadership, management, communication, project planning, and project delivery skills.
• Ability to lead and influence global, multifunctional teams in complex matrix environments.
• Experience implementing business and technology initiatives, ideally in supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or enterprise transformation.

• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
