Senior R&D Project Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Hybrid onsite in Waltham, Massachusetts, 4 days per week onsite and 1 day per week remote.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage new product development and sustaining engineering projects from inception through post-launch across multiple projects.
• Establish schedules and budgets, prioritize tasks, and ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
• Partner with Product Management and cross-functional teams on business-critical R&D projects entering the new product pipeline or supporting the existing portfolio.
• Define project risks, mitigation and contingency plans; report outcomes and escalate issues through appropriate management channels.
• Drive adherence to Nova Design Control and Stage Gate processes and lead Bio Ecosystem and Core Team meetings.
• Resolve resource allocation and R&D issues, set priorities, and escalate activities that could affect product approval or launch.

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience in a regulated industry; medical or pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
• Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the business and manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of design control, stage-gate methodologies, and product development life cycles.
• Expertise with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or Confluence.
• Experience with budget management, risk assessment, and strategic planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, time-management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience producing written reports and presenting to management.
• Degree in Engineering, Science, or Project Management.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as required, communicate by phone, video, and writing, and move around the office for meetings or resources.

• Medical or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification.
