Software Engineer II (Android)

Location: Toronto, ON; hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site at Toronto-81 Bay

What you will do

• Design, develop, and integrate cross-functional, multi-platform application systems using Java and Android.
• Build and ship secure, scalable Android mobile applications and enhancements to existing technologies.
• Guide architecture, automation, comprehensive testing, CI/CD, observability, and technical debt reduction.
• Improve application performance, reliability, and measurable product and process outcomes.
• Lead project-level risk assessments and implement security, privacy, regulatory, and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with product, design, operations, partner teams, Compliance, and Audit.

Requirements

• Experience developing mobile applications on the Android platform.
• Experience integrating Android applications with Java-based backend services in cloud and containerized environments.
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, initiative, ownership, and effective communication.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada at the specified location; a valid work or study permit may be required where applicable.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 1–3 days per week on-site in Toronto.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or technology.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot software development best practices.
