Staff Simulation Data Modeler (AI)

Salary: $134,000–$180,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the AtomEngine entity catalog across service branches, nations, and historical eras, tracking completion, freshness, and confidence.
• Translate customer and field feedback into priorities for catalog segments in partnership with Customer Relations.
• Research authoritative sources and define standards, formulas, and modeling principles for weapon effects, sensors, fuel burn, survivability, and related performance data.
• Direct AI agents through prompts, review loops, and guardrails for research, data entry, documentation, and testing at scale.
• Lead verification, validation, and accreditation by directing automated test coverage and running competitive wargames to identify weaknesses.
• Set documentation standards, explain model logic and sourcing, and mentor analysts on tradecraft and validation methods.

Requirements

• Strong research, analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience directing AI agents with clear instructions, review checkpoints, and error detection.
• Comfort reasoning about and sanity-checking quantitative formulas for effects, consumption, survivability, or similar models.
• Experience with game modding tools, editors, or simulation authoring environments.
• Ability to serve as an escalation point for contested technical decisions and defend them to customers or subject matter experts.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience partnering with engineering on test automation or QA tooling.
• Familiarity with military doctrine, force structure, or platform performance data.
• Experience with version control and bug-tracking systems.
• Experience mentoring, training, or setting standards adopted by other analysts or contributors.
