Java Developer (Backend)

Location: Montevideo; remote work within the Spain time zone

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs within a modern microservices architecture.
• Optimize and maintain PostgreSQL database models.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications running on OpenShift and Docker.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver secure and reliable applications.
• Write unit tests, participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies, and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and REST API development.
• Knowledge of Docker containers, OpenShift, and Git.
• Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban and strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Availability to work remotely within the Spain time zone.

Nice to have

• Experience with React development.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, cloud-native applications, and containerized deployments.
