Controls Technician Apprentice (HVAC)

What you will do

• Assist experienced service technicians with the installation and repair of HVAC and environmental control systems.
• Service equipment at customer locations by identifying, examining, diagnosing, and planning repairs.
• Coordinate with supervising field technicians, project managers, and customers on installations, materials, and on-site work.
• Use diagnostic software, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and repair units.
• Maintain high safety standards and ensure accountability for company assets.

Requirements

• No industry experience is required; HVAC training or technical certificates may be considered for proficiency and starting compensation.
• At least 18 years old on the first day of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations during the last three years.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, use ladders and protective equipment, access rooftops, work in confined areas, and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and climbing.
• Ability to work around variable weather, moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical-shock risks, and noisy equipment.

Nice to have

• Technical school certification or formal HVAC training and experience.
