Security Compliance Program Owner

What you will do

• Own SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and future compliance frameworks end to end, including audits and evidence management.
• Maintain and complete control evidence in compliance automation platforms to ensure audit readiness.
• Lead security diligence for enterprise and regulated customers, handling questionnaires, audit responses, and reporting.
• Manage and mature the risk register into an enterprise-aligned program.
• Coordinate compliance obligations from customer contracts with legal, including data protection and breach notification.
• Assess and implement new certifications as required by customer pipeline.
• Partner with engineering and IT to integrate evidence collection into system operations.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in San Francisco or work onsite
• 7+ years in governance, risk, and compliance, preferably in high-growth startups.
• Proven ownership of SOC 2 and ISO 27001 programs with audit experience.
• Experience managing security diligence for enterprise or regulated customers.
• Fluency with compliance automation tools like Vanta and ability to produce audit-ready evidence.
• Strong understanding of security controls in cloud and SaaS environments.
• Ability to independently run compliance programs and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated-customer contractual security obligations.
• Exposure to advanced frameworks such as FedRAMP.
• Experience building compliance teams or functions.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, AI, or ML platforms.
