Tech & Data Program Summer 2027 – Data Engineer Intern (Charlotte)

Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC, United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.

What you will do

• Build and support data pipelines that ingest, transform, and prepare data for business and analytical use.
• Work with structured and unstructured data for analytics, reporting, and AI-driven solutions.
• Apply Python, SQL, ETL processes, and cloud technologies to develop reliable data assets.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance through profiling, validation, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Use AI tools such as Copilot to improve productivity and support advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student graduating in May 2028 with a Bachelor's or Master's degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, or another STEM-related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze complex problems using structured thinking and logical reasoning.
• Commitment to ethical judgment and responsible data use.
• US work authorization without current or future company sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Python, SQL, PL/SQL, ETL/ELT, data transformation, data profiling, data quality, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, GitHub, relational databases, and data warehouse concepts.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Tableau, dashboards, reporting, data mining, business intelligence, AI/ML concepts, generative AI tools, LLMs, or NLP.
• Exposure to Agile teams, sprint delivery, or collaborative product-based work.
