Senior AI Engineer (TypeScript/Node.js)

Location: Based within European time zones; hybrid work from the Copenhagen or London office, or remote work

What you will do

• Design and ship AI agents that use internal and external tools to solve customer problems interactively and autonomously.
• Build agent harnesses, datasets, and offline and online evaluations to measure and improve performance.
• Deliver features end to end across manager and employee interfaces, backend services, and data layers.
• Operate production agents, managing latency, cost, failure modes, and guardrails.
• Evaluate new models, frameworks, and techniques through practical experiments and recommend what to adopt.
• Partner with product and engineering teams on AI features, standards, and architecture.

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping AI agents used by real customers.
• Strong context and prompt engineering skills, including retrieval, tool design, and structured outputs.
• Production engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js, or the ability to learn them quickly from another typed language.
• Ability to design highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems.
• 5+ years of full-stack experience with React, React Native, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Fluent English, spoken and written, and availability within European time zones are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Vercel AI SDK.
• Experience with Mastra or a similar agent framework.
• Startup or scale-up experience.
