Design Project Manager – Data Centre Projects (Data Centres)

Location: Remote within Canada, with occasional travel to client offices, project sites, and team meetings across Canada and the United States.

What you will do

• Manage multiple data centre design projects from proposal through construction documentation and project closeout.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, structural, and BIM/VDC engineering professionals.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and deliverables.
• Act as the primary contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead project kickoffs, design reviews, coordination meetings, and client presentations.
• Monitor risks, manage scope and change orders, support contract administration, and promote continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary engineering or design projects, preferably involving mission-critical facilities or data centres.
• Experience leading complex projects through all design and engineering phases.
• Understanding of data centre infrastructure, including electrical power systems, mechanical cooling systems, and critical facility design principles.
• Experience with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet, plus strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and client communication skills.
• Knowledge of Canadian building codes and provincial regulations, with familiarity with U.S. industry standards; ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice to have

• PMP certification or eligibility.
• EIT or P.Eng. license.
• LEED AP or other relevant certifications.
• Familiarity with Revit, Revizto, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or comparable design coordination platforms.
