Security Developer (Identity and Access Management)

Location: Montreal or Quebec City, Quebec, Canada; in-person, hybrid, and remote work modes are available. Remote hiring is available worldwide, with occasional travel for in-person team-building events.

What you will do

• Build and maintain access request and approval workflows for system owners.
• Develop self-service APIs, command-line interfaces, and lightweight user interfaces for access provisioning and deprovisioning.
• Design automated user lifecycle pipelines for onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.
• Integrate lifecycle automation with HR systems and identity providers such as Okta.
• Build audit logging and access review systems for compliance reporting across corporate and research and development environments.
• Collaborate with Security Engineering, IT, and platform teams to integrate security tools and scale access management.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, including internal tooling, automation, or platform services.
• Proficiency in Python or another backend language, with experience building APIs and integrations.
• Practical experience with workflow orchestration, approval systems, or business process automation.
• Familiarity with IAM concepts and technologies, including SSO, SCIM, RBAC, OIDC, and SAML.
• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code.

Nice to have

• Experience automating Okta or Microsoft Entra ID through APIs.
• Experience building developer self-service platforms or internal portals.
• Knowledge of just-in-time access, time-bound permissions, zero standing privilege, or privileged access management.
• Relevant security or identity certifications.
