Principal Engineer - CAD (Physical Verification)

Location: Chandler, Arizona, United States; onsite role with 0–25% travel.

What you will do

• Develop physical verification regression test cases and QA verification rule decks across multiple PDKs and process technologies.
• Support layout and design engineers with DRC, LVS, PERC, ERC, voltage-aware DRC, and related physical verification activities.
• Develop, customize, debug, and enhance verification flows, run decks, and foundry rule decks.
• Work with Technology Development and Device Engineering on DRC rules, devices, and design-for-manufacturing checks.
• Support remote sites worldwide with layout verification and physical verification issue debugging.
• Build flows that improve device quality, reliability, and manufacturability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 10 years of experience developing and supporting physical verification activities.
• In-depth knowledge of Calibre DesignRev scripting, SVRF, and TVF.
• Expertise with Siemens Calibre and/or Cadence Pegasus DRC, LVS, and PERC tools; experience with Synopsys Hercules is also relevant.
• Experience debugging physical verification issues using RVE, Vue, or another EDA visualizer, and customizing Calibre Interactive.
• Skilled in Tcl/Tk, Perl, Python, and other programming languages used inside and outside EDA tools.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog design, circuit and layout concepts, foundry rules, device identification, design for manufacturing, quality, reliability, and yield.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive Calibre, Pegasus, or Hercules syntax and semantics knowledge.
• Knowledge of extraction, reliability, and dynamic noise.
• Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and/or CalibreDRV.
