Quality Assurance Analyst I (Data Quality)

What you will do

• Validate data products across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the Microsoft Fabric Medallion architecture.
• Ensure traceability from source systems through data products to Power BI reports.
• Test Power BI reports end to end, including visuals, metrics, and data reconciliation.
• Apply data governance standards through Microsoft Purview, including metadata, lineage, and quality scoring.
• Develop test plans, validate performance and refresh reliability, and manage defects with technical teams.
• Identify root causes and provide quality insights that improve data reliability and trust in analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data QA, data validation, or analytics testing.
• Required experience with Python and SQL.
• Experience with software development lifecycle management, Git, and version control.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and Medallion architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI validation and testing, data quality frameworks, ETL/ELT pipeline validation, and functional, integration, and regression testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Goal–Question–Metrics methodology.
• Exposure to data mesh or data product approaches.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview governance capabilities.
• Experience in regulated environments such as defense, aviation, or the public sector.
