Associate AWS DevOps Engineer

Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota. U.S. citizenship is required, and employment is contingent on meeting customer, facility-access, background-investigation, and contract eligibility requirements.

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot AWS cloud environments and mission-critical workloads.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives with experienced cloud, DevOps, architecture, cybersecurity, application, and infrastructure teams.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, Rust, or comparable tools.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including automated builds, testing, security scanning, deployments, validation, promotion, and rollback.
• Support containerized workloads, monitoring, alerting, backups, recovery processes, service-health checks, and FinOps activities.
• Participate in compliance documentation, incident response, technical reviews, Agile planning, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• At least two years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, systems administration, software development, infrastructure automation, cybersecurity engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on AWS experience and experience with at least one Infrastructure as Code technology, such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with a scripting or programming language, Linux administration, command-line tools, troubleshooting, and Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker or Kubernetes, cloud networking, identity and access management, encryption, logging, monitoring, and security practices.
• Active AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Developer – Associate, CloudOps Engineer – Associate, Data Engineer – Associate, or Machine Learning Engineer – Associate certification is required at hire or within six months. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitLab, GitLab Runners, Ansible, Helm, ArgoCD, or Flux.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST Special Publication 800-53, observability, vulnerability management, incident response, backup and recovery, or FinOps.
• Experience using approved Generative AI tools for engineering, scripting, testing, documentation, or troubleshooting.
