Location: Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh or London, UK; hybrid working with at least two days per week or 40% of working time in an office

Salary: £92,701–£119,966 outside London; £107,304–£138,864 in London

What you will do

• Shape the adversary emulation and Advanced Intrusion Testing strategy across the organisation.
• Plan and deliver sophisticated, intelligence-led Red Team and Purple Team operations.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of offensive security specialists.
• Define and execute the AIT roadmap in alignment with Chief Security Office and wider security objectives.
• Communicate security risks, testing outcomes and strategic recommendations to technical teams, stakeholders and executives.
• Translate testing results into prioritised remediation and measurable risk reduction.

Requirements

• Extensive experience leading Red Team, Purple Team and adversary emulation functions in a large, complex organisation.
• Experience planning and delivering sophisticated intelligence-led attack simulations.
• Strong knowledge of adversary tactics, techniques and procedures, threat-led testing methodologies and offensive security tooling.
• Ability to conduct targeted covert tests, identify and exploit vulnerabilities, and perform post-exploitation activities with limited reliance on tools.
• Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including communication with senior leadership.

Nice to have

• CREST, CRTO, GIAC, OSCP, OSCE or equivalent offensive security certification.
• Software development, automation or engineering experience with languages such as C#, C++, C, Python, Bash, Java or Rust.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Cyber Security, Computer Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled security testing, attack simulation frameworks and modern security engineering practices.
