Senior Associate Scientist (Cellular Genomics)

Location: On premise in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Candidates must have permanent U.S. work authorization; relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% performance bonus.

What you will do

• Process, quality-check, troubleshoot, and interpret sequencing and genomics datasets, including single-cell, single-nucleus, spatial, bulk, and multiomic data.
• Apply computational biology and bioinformatics workflows, including AI-enabled tools, and produce reproducible reports, figures, tables, and technical summaries.
• Support experimental design, sample and metadata planning, platform selection, data management, and interpretation of genomic readouts.
• Evaluate and benchmark bioinformatics workflows, genomic assays, platforms, instrumentation, and analytical approaches.
• Perform wet-lab genomics activities such as tissue dissociation, cell and nuclei isolation, nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and quality control.
• Maintain analysis plans, experimental documentation, standard operating procedures, electronic lab notebook records, and data-integrity standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, systems biology, data science with biological applications, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a relevant master’s degree with 0+ years of experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with genomics data analysis, quality control, visualization, or reproducible bioinformatics workflows.
• Experience using Python, R, command-line tools, notebooks, version-controlled workflows, or related genomics analysis environments.
• Foundational hands-on experience with molecular biology, sample preparation, sequencing library preparation, or genomics assays.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, collaboration, and scientific rigor skills.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-enabled or agentic bioinformatics tools such as Claude Science, ToolUniverse, or BIOMNI.
• Expertise in inflammation, immunology, neuro-inflammation, or translational medicine.
