Presales Network Solution Architect - Providence RI

Location: Remote; workplace type: Hybrid. The position title references Providence, Rhode Island.

What you will do

• Partner with sales teams to lead discovery sessions and translate client goals into scalable network and security solutions.
• Design architectures across routing and switching, SD-WAN, SASE/SSE, wireless, data center fabrics, segmentation, NAC, and next-generation firewalls.
• Assess client environments, validate technical feasibility, identify modernization opportunities, and resolve complex design tradeoffs.
• Develop cost models, estimates, solution narratives, proposals, RFP responses, and Statements of Work.
• Coordinate sales, delivery, engineering, vendors, and distribution partners through solution development and handoff.
• Create reusable reference designs, mentor Solution Architects, and improve presales standards and processes.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in IT solution design, network architecture, or technical presales, including complex multi-workstream pursuits.
• Expertise in enterprise networking, network security, routing protocols, switching, VLANs/VXLAN, QoS, multicast, and network automation.
• Design experience with Cisco, Juniper, HPE Aruba, and Fortinet platforms.
• Experience with SD-WAN, SASE/SSE, Zero Trust network access, segmentation, cloud connectivity, and hybrid or multi-cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, network observability, licensing models, cost modeling, and delivery resource planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience; strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, HPE Aruba ACSP/ACMX, or Fortinet NSE 6–8/FCSS certification.
• Experience with an MSP, VAR, or systems integrator.
• AWS, Azure, VMware, TOGAF, or ITIL certification.
• Experience designing solutions for financial services, healthcare, retail, education, or public-sector organizations.
