Associate Software Engineer (API Gateway)

Location: Billund, Denmark; hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the office. Relocation support is not offered.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and operate API gateway capabilities for reliable integrations at scale.
• Build self-service tools, automations, and AI-assisted solutions that improve engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with digital product teams to deliver secure, user-focused API platform features.
• Support platform operations through incident management and a structured on-call rotation.
• Share knowledge in engineering communities and promote API-first principles and standardized platform usage.

Requirements

• Experience with C#, TypeScript, or Golang and modern cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with API development using REST or GraphQL.
• Comfort working with Kubernetes, Docker, observability, and troubleshooting practices.
• Clear English communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work from the Billund workplace under the hybrid policy; relocation support is not offered.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Lua, NGINX, networking concepts, or infrastructure as code.
• Exposure to open-source projects, API management, or platform engineering practices.
