UAE - Senior Geotechnical Engineer (PLAXIS)

What you will do

• Conduct independent technical reviews of pile foundation, shoring, soil improvement, and soil structure interaction designs.
• Review geotechnical investigation reports covering foundation recommendations, bearing capacity, liquefaction, cavities, and design parameters.
• Review soil improvement calculations, method statements, reports, and quality control test results.
• Assess soil investigation proposals, including boreholes, testing, permits, scopes of work, and method statements.
• Develop and review 2D and 3D geotechnical analyses using PLAXIS, with a focus on soil structure interaction.
• Attend technical meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and UAE authorities during approval processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; degrees in Geology alone are not accepted.
• At least 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE.
• Mandatory design experience; field supervision or laboratory testing experience alone is insufficient.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai and Abu Dhabi design standards, authority requirements, and approval processes.
• Proficiency in PLAXIS 2D, PLAXIS 3D, and other relevant geotechnical software.
• Strong technical report review, communication, project coordination, and independent working skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with a foundation specialist contractor or consultant.
• Experience with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Development Authority, Trakhees, Abu Dhabi Municipality, and Tasareeh requirements.
