Staff Software QA Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead testing activities for software projects on a Scrum team and report testing status.
• Design, review, execute, and maintain test plans and test cases for safety-critical medical devices and associated applications.
• Identify requirement ambiguities and software risks, and collaborate cross-functionally to mitigate them.
• Generate detailed defect reports and assist development teams with troubleshooting.
• Facilitate defect, test plan, test case, program, design, and document reviews.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts, monitor automation results, and document requirements-to-test traceability.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree, or equivalent industry experience, in a STEM discipline.
• Typically 5+ years of relevant experience and a proven record of performing software QA responsibilities.
• Experience writing SQL queries and using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Experience working with the Linux OS file system.
• Experience testing web services with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or Swagger.
• Advanced reasoning, technical documentation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
