PHP Software Engineer

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid work

Salary: €3,000 gross monthly, with the final base salary adjusted according to skills and experience. Performance bonus is paid twice per year, up to 10% of the basic salary for the evaluation period.

What you will do

• Develop innovative features for global websites, the CMS, the hirify.global Science Award platform, and the WeLiveSecurity blog.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and integrate third-party REST APIs.
• Write readable, maintainable, and automatically tested code using unit, feature, and integration tests.
• Collaborate in Scrum activities, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Optimize SQL queries and application performance, and debug production issues.
• Use Docker, Git, and CI/CD in daily development while working with microservices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• English at B2 level or higher.
• Professional experience with PHP 8.x, OOP, SOLID, design patterns, Laravel or Symfony, and MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Git, Git Flow, Composer, Docker, Linux, and CI/CD.
• Experience with PHPUnit, unit testing, feature and integration testing, and automated test development.
• Experience with microservices, dependency-injection containers, independent feature development, and production debugging.

Nice to have

• Experience with Builder.io or another headless CMS.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and AI-powered engineering workflows.
• Knowledge of GraphQL, DDD, CQRS, event-driven architecture, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Redis, message brokers, and observability tools.
