What you will do

  • Inspect, test, and evaluate fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Verify compliance with NFPA standards, NYC building and fire codes, and client requirements.
  • Conduct field inspections, identify deficiencies and code violations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate testing and service records.
  • Coordinate with contractors, property managers, engineers, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Support fire alarm code consulting, project closeouts, and compliance verification.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of experience in fire alarm inspection, life safety systems, or code consulting.
  • NICET Level I certification is required.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and NYC fire and building regulations.
  • Experience conducting field inspections of fire alarm systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and system schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • NICET Level II or higher certification.
  • Experience with commercial high-rise or mixed-use properties.
  • OSHA certification.
