Senior C++ Engineer - SONiC

What you will do

• Write functional, design, and test-plan specifications for SONiC system software managing switch hardware.
• Implement software solutions using C, C++, and Python.
• Develop, execute, and debug automated tests for networking features.
• Implement, test, and troubleshoot routing protocols and distributed systems functionality.
• Analyze customer and system-test issues and deliver fixes through software releases or patches.
• Review and contribute to specifications and implementations while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• BSc, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, plus 2+ years of related postgraduate work experience.
• Knowledge of C, C++, and/or Python, as well as UNIX or Linux.
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking, including routing protocols or Layer 2 features.
• Ability to test and debug packet forwarding engines and vendor-provided hardware software libraries.
• Knowledge of distributed-system infrastructure such as messaging, signaling, databases, and command-line interfaces.
• Strong software engineering, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently on small problems.

Nice to have

• Experience developing Ethernet bridging, routing, distributed-systems, or switch/router system software.
• Experience with IP routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, or PIM.
• Experience with Linux kernel, SAI, containerization, Docker, or Redis.
