Modeling and Simulation Engineer (Satellite Systems)

Location: On-site in Chantilly, Virginia, United States; up to 20% CONUS travel may be required.

Salary: $121,000–$151,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Support mission analysis assessments and studies for program offices.
• Coordinate architecture impact, trade, and performance assessments across enterprise and program engineering groups.
• Develop, test, and validate systems assessment methodologies and tools using STK, SOAP, MATLAB, Python, and related software.
• Analyze space systems, performance metrics, timelines, orbital behavior, threats, and spacecraft and ground-system issues.
• Support algorithm analysis, tuning, testing, verification, validation, and integration planning.
• Communicate technical findings, develop resolution strategies, and maintain technical documentation and reports.

Requirements

• Current and active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of Intelligence Community experience.
• Detailed understanding of government satellite systems and SIGINT architectures.
• Knowledge of satellite relevance to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community missions.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or similar tools, plus the ability to analyze complex space systems.
