Senior Engineering Manager for Voice for Meetings (AI Voice)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work with office attendance twice a week

What you will do

• Lead, develop, hire, and grow a small team of senior engineers.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of real-time voice features from architecture through production.
• Own the technical direction of systems for live transcription, translation, and voice intelligence.
• Collaborate closely with product management, senior technical leadership, and applied science.
• Translate inference, preprocessing, training-data drift, latency, and model-quality constraints into delivery decisions.
• Build a high-agency engineering culture with clear ownership and low bureaucracy.

Requirements

• Direct experience managing engineers and owning delivery, performance, hiring, and career development.
• Strong hands-on technical skills and willingness to stay close to the code.
• Experience leading teams building user-facing products, real-time systems, streaming systems, or distributed systems at scale.
• Credibility with senior engineers and the ability to reason about architecture, failure modes, and technical trade-offs.
• Practical understanding of ML systems in production, including inference, preprocessing, and data drift.
• Strong product and commercial judgment, with comfort operating amid changing priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with voice, speech, or audio technology, including ASR, TTS, or real-time audio pipelines.
• Experience in a startup or small product organization.
• Experience integrating third-party platform APIs or leading an architectural change or technical pivot.
