Tooling Specialist (Plastic Injection Molds)

What you will do

• Design, evaluate, modify, and debug plastic injection molds and related manufacturing tooling.
• Research and prepare specifications, design concepts, preliminary layouts, and component details for new and existing molds.
• Analyze part designs for moldability and prepare or review DFM and Moldflow reports.
• Support project schedules, cost tracking, status reporting, team meetings, and communication with management.
• Provide technical support to tooling manufacturers and lead root-cause analysis for design and tooling issues.
• Support mold trials, pilot runs, mass production, and final mold debugging before release to manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or another Engineering discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience with plastic injection mold design, cycle processing, part design, troubleshooting, and material properties.
• Project management experience and knowledge of tooling design and tooling cost evaluation.
• Experience with CAD/CAE software such as AutoCAD, Pro/E, SolidWorks, Moldflow, or Plastics.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, complete projects on time, and travel occasionally to factories in China.
