Senior Director (Market Data) (Fintech)

Location: The Shard, London; hybrid format with 4 days in the office and 1 day remotely

What you will do

• Define and execute the global commercial strategy for market data.
• Own strategic relationships with exchanges and market data providers.
• Lead negotiations covering pricing, tiers, enterprise agreements, usage models, minimum commitments, waivers, renewals, and price reviews.
• Own the commercial and licensing framework for sourcing, using, and distributing market data.
• Build portfolio economics, metrics, business cases, and recommendations for major sourcing and commercial decisions.
• Provide senior cross-functional leadership across Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and senior leadership.

Requirements

• Significant experience in market data, an exchange, market data provider, broker, trading platform, investment firm, or another financial markets business.
• Direct experience leading complex commercial negotiations with exchanges and market data providers.
• Deep knowledge of market data licensing, exchange policies, pricing structures, commercial models, redistribution, derived data, and audit or true-up mechanisms.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to build and defend positions from complex contracts, pricing, usage, and business requirements.
• Experience managing senior relationships and leading specialist teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• Experience managing a global market data portfolio across multiple exchanges, asset classes, and regions.
• Experience with MDSL, Calero, TRG Screen, or similar market data management platforms.
• Experience distributing market data to a large user base.
• Experience using analytics, automation, or AI tools for commercial analysis and vendor management.
