Senior R&D Project Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Parsippany, New Jersey, United States

Annual salary: $130,900–$160,000, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead assigned new product development, product line extension, and sustaining engineering projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects against defined objectives, schedules, and budgets.
• Balance electrical, mechanical, and software development issues at the system level.
• Develop project work plans, schedules, requirements, traceability, and project documentation.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, problem solving, and mitigation planning.
• Manage technical partners and vendors and facilitate project meetings and management presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree in Engineering required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience managing technical product development.
• 10+ years of experience developing products as an engineer, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Experience with medical device capital equipment development.
• Knowledge of medical device design controls, risk management, electrical safety standards, and regulations.
• Experience with system-level electrical, mechanical, and software engineering practices, plus Scrum and Agile processes.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics or experience with ventilators or aspirators.
• Advanced engineering degree.
