Mechanical Design Engineer, Production Hardware Development, Lund (Production Hardware)

What you will do

• Design, develop, verify, and deliver high-precision production and test fixtures for Axis production lines.
• Create moving mechanical systems and fixed holders optimized for simplicity, ergonomics, and human interaction using Creo 3D CAD and Windchill PDM.
• Prototype designs using in-house 3D printing and additive manufacturing technologies, then verify their performance.
• Contribute to R&D projects focused on robust engineering, scalability, repeatability, and production quality.
• Coordinate stakeholders, plan work, communicate changes and risks, and collaborate on automated production equipment such as sensor and lens alignment systems.
• Work with suppliers on fixture and equipment manufacturing and verify completed equipment before production deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant mechanical design experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD; Creo or Pro/Engineer experience is preferred.
• Knowledge and practical experience with 3D printing and hands-on mechanical work.
• Experience designing fixtures with moving mechanics and aluminum parts for CNC machining.
• Very good communication skills in English and Swedish are required.

Nice to have

• Design experience in mechatronics and automation.
• International production experience or experience developing production equipment.
• Experience with optics or metrology.
