Forward Deployed Engineering Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Build and lead the Forward Deployed Engineering function, defining its technical standards, engineering practices, and delivery model.
• Deliver complex CurieOS customer deployments hands-on by writing production code, designing architectures, building integrations, and debugging issues.
• Connect software, data, and physical infrastructure, including simulation campaigns, digital twins, lab instruments, test rigs, and CAD/PLM systems.
• Own engagements from technical discovery through implementation, production deployment, and customer adoption.
• Define engagement KPIs, measure outcomes, and report results to executive sponsors.
• Hire, develop, manage, and staff Forward Deployed Engineers across scientific and engineering domains.

Requirements

• Significant experience in enterprise software technical delivery or forward deployed engineering, including complex deployments and production coding with customers.
• Experience building a forward deployed engineering or solutions function, hiring a team, setting standards, and defining the delivery model.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and respected technical judgment.
• Ability to move between strategy discussions with R&D leadership and hands-on debugging with engineers.
• Experience succeeding in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where requirements evolve through direct user iteration.
• Genuine interest in software supporting scientific and industrial applications.
