Senior/Principal Water Infrastructure Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the planning, design, technical assurance, and delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning through construction support.
• Provide specialist expertise across water supply, sewerage networks, pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and associated infrastructure.
• Act as Lead Engineer, Technical Authority, or Independent Reviewer for designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
• Review contractor, consultant, and delivery-partner designs and provide practical, risk-based technical advice.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage technical risk, and build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor engineers, support proposals and tenders, and contribute to business development and team capability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or progress toward chartership.
• Experience in the design and delivery of water supply and/or sewerage infrastructure.
• Strong technical knowledge of pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and associated water-industry infrastructure.
• Experience reviewing and assessing engineering designs and technical documentation.
• Experience leading or contributing to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
• Australian citizenship, eligibility to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance, and ITAR eligibility are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SA Water standards and technical requirements.
• Hydraulic modelling or network analysis experience.
• Experience in design assurance, owner's engineer, or technical review roles.
