Data Engineer

Location: Worldwide; fully remote, office-based, or hybrid work options available

Salary: EUR 2,800–4,550 gross per month; final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth

What you will do

• Gather and clarify requirements with analytics and finance stakeholders.
• Design and evolve Data Warehouse architecture, including ODS and Data Marts, with audit requirements in mind.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based financial data pipelines, including incremental pipelines.
• Build and optimize BigQuery data marts using Dataform.
• Analyze source systems and create data flows from source to consumption.
• Maintain Airflow workflows and participate in testing, data validation, releases, data quality investigations, and audit documentation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, DWH Engineer, or Data Analyst working with Data Warehouses.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse architecture, ODS and Data Mart layers, incremental loads, historical data handling, and deduplication.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience designing and optimizing data marts.
• Experience with BigQuery, including partitioning, clustering, and cost-aware querying, plus Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Hands-on Python experience for data processing and ETL tasks, along with Git proficiency.
• Experience with data quality, data governance, SLAs, and stakeholder communication; English at Intermediate+ level or above.

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Dataform, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with Kafka-based streaming pipelines, schemas, and delivery guarantees.
• Experience with Spark, Apache Beam, Looker, or Tableau.
• Experience with financial data, financial reporting, audits, or regulatory requirements.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude.
