Senior Data Engineer

Location: Belgrade, Cluj-Napoca, Krakow, Larnaca, Lodz, Lublin, Riga, Sofia, Varna, Warsaw, or Wroclaw; remote work is available from Bulgaria or Poland.

Requirements

• Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, Python, Airflow, and AWS cloud services.
• Knowledge of modern ELT practices and dimensional data modeling, including fact and dimension structures.
• Experience understanding unfamiliar datasets, identifying data quality issues, and defining transformation requirements.
• Experience debugging and supporting production data pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and deliver tasks with limited supervision.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and enhance ingestion, processing, and transformation pipelines.
• Develop and orchestrate Python and Airflow workflows.
• Create reliable, reusable data models for analytics and application consumers.
• Use SQL and Snowflake to investigate data, implement transformations, and resolve issues.
• Perform data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks.
• Optimize Snowflake performance and cost through query tuning, warehouse sizing, clustering, and partitioning decisions.
