MEP Design Engineer (AI Data Center)

Location: Germany; fully remote

hirify.global presents the role on behalf of a partner developing major AI data center infrastructure.

What you will do

• Develop and review electrical distribution systems, including medium- and low-voltage systems, UPS units, diesel generators, and battery energy storage systems.
• Design and review cooling and ventilation systems, including chillers, dry coolers, water towers, and applicable liquid cooling solutions.
• Coordinate modular facility architecture with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and OT/IT infrastructure, including BMS and DCIM systems.
• Review supplier, contractor, and engineering-partner documentation to identify risks, discrepancies, and design gaps.
• Prepare and maintain the Basis of Design and technical specifications, and support tenders and vendor evaluations for critical equipment.
• Coordinate with IT Infrastructure teams throughout the project lifecycle to resolve design and integration challenges.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional MEP design experience in critical infrastructure or heavy-industry facilities.
• Demonstrated experience designing cooling and ventilation systems and a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant engineering calculation or design software.
• Ability to review multidisciplinary documentation and translate technical requirements into practical design solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for working with suppliers, engineering partners, and IT teams.
• English proficiency sufficient for international collaboration and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tier III/IV facilities and greenfield or brownfield projects through construction and implementation.
• Knowledge of direct liquid cooling, high-density computing, or NVIDIA GB200/GB300 GPU infrastructure.
• Familiarity with EU or Polish electrical, building, and fire safety regulations.
• Polish language skills.
