Technician, Quality Assurance Engineering

Location: Onsite in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia; willingness to work across different Penang Media Plant locations and support shift/overtime schedules for 24/7 manufacturing operations is required.

What you will do

• Inspect returned and impacted finished goods, determine dispositions, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Perform Out-of-Box Audits to verify packaging integrity, labeling, and product conformance before shipment.
• Maintain quality records, trackers, and quality management systems, and update procedures in Agile.
• Conduct production-line compliance audits, HIRADC workplace safety audits, and coordinate sampling submissions.
• Perform visual inspection calibration, recertify operators, and maintain certification records.
• Deliver Quality Awareness orientations for new support-track and direct-labor hires.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality or operations.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and spoken Bahasa Malaysia is required.
• Working knowledge of quality management systems, inspection methods, audit frameworks, and visual inspection.
• Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to work independently across shifts with cross-functional teams.
• Cleanroom garments and PPE must be worn in designated controlled work areas.

Nice to have

• Experience in HDD/media or electronics manufacturing.
• Experience with Oracle or MES systems.
