What you will do

  • Own system integration across the robot from high-level behavior decomposition and requirements through field deployment.
  • Contribute to subsystem architecture decisions covering communication protocols, control strategies, and hardware-software partitioning.
  • Define interfaces and validation strategies with electrical, mechanical, safety, firmware, and controls teams, and lead calibration and tuning.
  • Prototype and characterize components and full systems to de-risk technologies before production architecture decisions.
  • Debug hardware-software interactions using logs, instrumentation, tracing, firmware recompilation, and re-flashing to identify root causes.
  • Drive failure analysis, system-level test plans, readiness reviews, sign-off, and post-launch monitoring.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of systems engineering or cross-disciplinary experience with complex electromechanical or robotic products.
  • Strong electrical, embedded communication, firmware, and software fundamentals, including hands-on bring-up with a scope and multimeter.
  • Ability to read, modify, and recompile C/C++ firmware and software for debugging and instrumentation.
  • Experience defining measurable and testable requirements, writing validation tooling, and analyzing and visualizing noisy hardware data.
  • Ability to work across mechanical, electrical, software, controls, reliability, and manufacturing disciplines.

Nice to have

  • Background in robotics, EV powertrains, drones, or other dense electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with manufacturing self-test design or service diagnostics.
  • Exposure to ISO 26262, IEC 61508, automotive or robotics validation processes, DFMEA, HARA, and FTA.
