Senior Software Engineer II (AI)

Location: Austin, Texas; hybrid

Base salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year; equity offered.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and iterate on customer-facing features across frontend applications, backend services, and AI workflows.
• Develop user experiences with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Build backend services and APIs with Python and FastAPI.
• Develop conversational AI, LLM, voice, SMS, chat, scheduling, and patient engagement workflows.
• Build integrations with healthcare systems and third-party APIs.
• Improve reliability, observability, testing, performance, and engineering workflows through code reviews, architecture decisions, and technical collaboration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production applications.
• Strong full-stack experience, or a strong frontend or backend focus with the ability to work across the stack.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, React, modern frontend frameworks, Python, and API frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Solid understanding of databases, APIs, testing, production reliability, AWS, Docker, and modern development workflows.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools to improve coding, debugging, testing, or engineering productivity.
• Ability to own projects independently, make sound technical decisions, and collaborate effectively across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI-powered applications, LLM workflows, agent-based systems, or RAG pipelines.
• Experience with healthcare technology, HIPAA, FHIR, HL7, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with event-driven architecture, real-time systems, or distributed applications.
• Experience in an early-stage startup or improving developer tooling, testing infrastructure, processes, or technical documentation.
