TL;DR
Quality Inspector II, Production Floor, First Shift (Aerospace Manufacturing): Conducting in-process and final inspections of propulsion components, large structures, and mechanical assemblies with an accent on dimensional inspection, hardware requirements, and non-conformance documentation. Focus on inspecting flight hardware with precision tools and borescopes, determining pass/fail status, and improving quality processes across production teams.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Onsite, first shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT, with a 50-hour workweek including 10 guaranteed overtime hours weekly.

Hiring range: $25.80–$38.70 USD per hour.

What you will do

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of propulsion components, large structures, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of flight hardware using precision hand tools, including micrometers, calipers, and bore gages.
  • Review hardware requirements, determine pass/fail status, and document non-conformances and deviations.
  • Perform foreign object debris inspections with borescopes and take closeout photos during final walkdowns.
  • Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality stakeholders to resolve inspection findings.
  • Identify process improvements and support quality initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment supporting production hardware.
  • Expert proficiency with precision hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gages.
  • Experience conducting thorough inspections and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with MRB processes, including identification, documentation, and disposition of non-conforming hardware.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills when working with inspectors, engineers, production personnel, and quality stakeholders.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Experience inspecting COPVs or avionics hardware, including electrical connectors, harnesses, and integrated assemblies.
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects or influencing initiatives without formal authority.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous or previously undefined environments.
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
