Team Lead Substation Automation - Digital Grid (Digital Grid)

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the substation automation engineering team, allocating work, managing priorities, and resolving conflicts.
• Own domain capability, engineering standards, ways of working, and continuous improvement across the team.
• Coach engineers, shape development plans, and contribute to hiring and promotion decisions.
• Represent the domain in discussions with customers, project managers, suppliers, senior stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines.
• Quality-check technical work, identify risks, and support timely resolution of delivery and quality issues.
• Drive digitalization by evaluating and adopting engineering tools, digital workflows, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring engineers and managing work allocation, priorities, and conflicts.
• Senior-level experience in substation automation engineering for high-voltage substations, including control systems, subsystems, IED integration, configuration, and hands-on testing.
• Knowledge of digital substations, virtualization, OT cybersecurity, SCADA platforms such as SEL and Zenon, IEC 61850, and NERC CIP.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and servant-leadership skills.
• Interest in engineering process improvement, digitalization, and adoption of new tools and methods.
• English proficiency at B2/C1 level is required for non-native English speakers.

• Familiarity with North American and Latin American utility practices and industry standards.
• Relocation to the United States may be considered for candidates living outside the US, subject to work authorization, support options, and immigration regulations.
