Data Product Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA; Boston; NYC Manhattan; or West Hartford, CT, with two office days required weekly

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually, plus performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, backlog, and outcomes for data products delivered by data science, AI engineering, and intelligent automation teams.
• Translate business opportunities across marketing, operations, underwriting, claims, distribution, and finance into measurable product initiatives and business cases.
• Prioritize automations, applied data science use cases, and AI/ML product builds based on business value and delivery capacity.
• Lead horizon scanning, innovation evaluation, proof-of-value work, pilots, and experimentation with emerging AI, GenAI, machine learning, and automation capabilities.
• Use SQL and hands-on data analysis to validate data quality, troubleshoot issues, and assess model and automation performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, data scientists, ML/AI engineers, automation developers, Delivery Managers, Scrum Masters, Architecture, and Governance teams.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner focused on data science, automation, AI/ML, or innovation.
• Property and Casualty insurance industry experience and experience working within a Data organization.
• Familiarity with data science, machine learning, and AI product lifecycles from ideation and proof of concept through production deployment.
• Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of SQL, including independently querying and validating data.
• Ability to scope ambiguous business problems, evaluate emerging capabilities, and assess business value and feasibility.
• Strong communication and consensus-building skills in cross-functional agile environments, including executive communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with intelligent automation or RPA platforms, MLOps tooling, and cloud AI/ML services such as Azure AI, Databricks, GEAP, or AWS SageMaker.
• Exposure to GenAI and LLM product development, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, or responsible AI.
• Background in data science, analytics, or engineering; SAFe POPM, CSPO, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with OKRs, innovation portfolio management, or venture/incubation-style product development.
