Salary: $93,000–$117,000 CAD base pay per year

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and test new star tracker products while maintaining existing products.
  • Develop, integrate, and commission test setups for production and research and development.
  • Collect and analyze data to quantify part-level and unit-level performance.
  • Support root cause analysis and disposition of non-conformances with the quality team.
  • Support assembly, integration, and testing of star tracker products with the production team.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in collaboration with the business development team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience designing, developing, or testing optical systems.
  • Ability to work at the Toronto, Ontario site and in production areas involving prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and computer work.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or optical systems.
  • Master’s degree in physics or aerospace engineering.
  • Experience with optical design and Zemax OpticStudio, optomechanical components, lens manufacturing, or stray light analysis.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft system design and the space environment.
  • Experience with Python or Matlab for data analysis, visualization, and interpretation; GIT or SVN; or embedded microcontroller development in C.
