Accounting Group Manager

Location: Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, United States; Workplace Type: Office

Salary: $70,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day activities of an accounting and finance team.
• Review complex general ledger reconciliations and research accounting issues.
• Resolve reconciliation differences and maintain accurate, timely records.
• Document reconciliation process changes in accordance with accounting policies and GAAP.
• Prepare and upload accounting entries and provide quarter-end reporting.
• Design and improve accounting and financial systems, evaluate cost-effective technologies, and train less experienced team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or regulatory work.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, time-management, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Ability to maintain accuracy, timeliness, quality assurance, and internal controls.

Nice to have

• Public accounting or financial reporting experience.
• CPA certification.
• Experience with banking regulations or core banking processes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Access, Wdesk, or Essbase.
• Demonstrated process improvement experience and a control-oriented mindset.
