Team Lead, Collections (Commercial Insurance)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. territories excluded. Reliable high-speed internet required.

Base compensation: $70,000–$90,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Own bad debt recovery outcomes across installment payments, short-rated policies, claim deductibles, audit surcharges, and additional premiums.
• Set collection lifecycle SLAs, KPIs, risk-based priorities, escalation thresholds, and closeout procedures.
• Manage collection vendors, litigation and settlement strategy, vendor scorecards, guidelines, billing, and referrals.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Accounting, Product, Engineering, and Premium Audit on regulations, allowance processes, dispute resolution, reporting, and automation.
• Lead internal collections staff, BPO resources, and offshore partners through performance management, coaching, training, and process improvement.
• Develop SOPs and improve collection assignment, tracking, reporting, and automated action processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of team leadership or people management experience, including performance management.
• 2+ years of vendor management experience.
• Experience with data analysis, vendor scorecards, workers' compensation operational practices, and Pie's products and systems.
• Working knowledge of the FDCPA, Regulation F, TCPA, and applicable state debt-collection laws.
• Comfort with G-Suite, Salesforce, collaboration tools, and frequent work across multiple platforms.

Nice to have

• 1+ year of Premium Audit experience.
• Experience in commercial insurance.
• 1+ year of experience managing BPO or offshore teams.
• LEAN Certification.
