Senior Engineer, Data

Location: Remote within the United States. US citizenship or a Green Card is required; visa sponsorship is not available. US residency for at least the past three years and eligibility for a Public Trust position are required.

What you will do

• Contribute to the design and delivery of medium-to-large data and software features while reducing technical debt.
• Build ingestion handlers, validation logic, and reconciliation tooling in Python.
• Own data pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tooling.
• Design test plans, test cases, quality metrics, and documentation across the software development lifecycle.
• Automate testing and conduct performance and security testing, including defect tracking and resolution.
• Collaborate with teammates, external teams, and client stakeholders to improve delivery quality.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL, including window functions, CTEs, query-plan analysis, and query tuning on large tables.
• PostgreSQL experience with schema design, indexing strategies, and live-system migrations.
• Fluent Python skills for ingestion, validation, and reconciliation work.
• Experience designing validation and reconciliation approaches when data sources lack a single authoritative source.
• Ability to design resilient systems for third-party feeds that arrive late or change format unexpectedly.
• US citizenship or Green Card, at least three years of US residency, and eligibility to obtain Public Trust clearance are required.

Nice to have

• AWS event-driven ingestion with Lambda, S3 events, EventBridge, or Step Functions.
• Pharmacy, drug pricing, formulary, payer, NCPDP, First Databank, Medi-Span, or HPMS data experience.
• Airflow, Dagster, dbt, Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or data quality frameworks such as Great Expectations or Soda.
• Experience in FedRAMP or ATO-governed environments.
• Applied AI/ML for anomaly detection on data feeds.
