Senior IT Systems Administrator

Location: Canberra or Sydney (preferred), Melbourne or Brisbane, Australia. The role requires an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance or higher and compliance with ITAR requirements.

What you will do

• Administer enterprise server, storage, backup, and virtualized infrastructure environments.
• Manage Pure Storage and NetApp platforms and administer Rubrik backup and recovery solutions.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and operational health.
• Perform maintenance, upgrades, patching, lifecycle activities, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Maintain system security, backup integrity, compliance standards, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Contribute to incident, problem, and change management while collaborating with internal IT teams, vendors, and team members.

Requirements

• Active NV1 Defence Security Clearance or higher is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience administering enterprise Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Pure Storage or NetApp.
• Experience with backup and recovery technologies, ideally Rubrik, and virtualized infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, independent working, and operational prioritization skills.
