Master Backend Developer / Tech Lead (Java, Go & AWS)

Location: Brazil; remote home office

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain high-availability backend services in Java and Go.
• Define REST APIs, event-driven flows, and WebSocket-based real-time communication patterns.
• Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Kubernetes on EKS.
• Create secure, repeatable GitLab CI/CD pipelines across development, testing, UAT, and production environments.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for platform reliability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, code reviews, mentoring, security hardening, cost optimization, and capacity planning.

Requirements

• Strong Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x experience.
• Go experience for real-time streaming or relay services.
• Experience with REST APIs, MongoDB or DocumentDB, Redis, WebSocket, Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC, SNS, and SQS.
• Experience with AWS services, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, networking, and observability tools.
• Must be based in Brazil and work remotely from a home office.
• Daily communication in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SRS, FFmpeg, RTMP/SRT, AWS MediaLive, or MediaPackage.
• Rust for performance-critical Lambda workloads.
• SonarQube, AWS cost optimization, capacity planning, or Gradle.
• Product or delivery management experience and prior team leadership.
