Foreclosure Document Specialist II

What you will do

• Review high volumes of legal affidavits and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance with federal and state foreclosure requirements.
• Validate loan activity summaries, historical financial information, required notices, interest calculations, and affidavit certifications.
• Assess foreclosure, bankruptcy, and loss mitigation status to determine whether affidavits can be executed and submitted to court.
• Review mortgage assignment chains, note endorsements, and powers of attorney to confirm foreclosure standing and signing authority.
• Resolve documentation discrepancies with external attorney firms while meeting stringent turnaround times.
• Occasionally appear in court as a witness regarding business records and maintain operational risk controls.

Requirements

• At least four years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of two years in banking or the mortgage industry.
• Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret legal explanations and identify when escalation is required.
• Ability to maintain compliance with varying state regulations and applicable company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborative, motivated, and positive approach to working with internal departments and external legal vendors.

Nice to have

• Paralegal certificate.
• Prior foreclosure experience.
• Experience with the BKFS MSP servicing platform and LoanSphere Process Management system.
