TL;DR
Production Engineer I (Space Systems): Improving solar cell and silicon-based production processes in a semiconductor fab with an accent on photolithography ownership, yield improvement, and sustaining operations. Focus on planning experiments, resolving process defects, improving throughput and reliability, and scoping equipment for new products and manufacturing expansion.

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's site in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States

What you will do

  • Support sustaining activities to maximize yield and productivity across lithography work centers.
  • Own photolithography process modules, including coat, expose, and develop systems and associated metrology.
  • Respond to defect issues, prepare yield reports, write work instructions, and oversee operator training.
  • Plan and perform experiments to improve safety, yield, reliability, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Equipment Maintenance, Process Technicians, and R&D teams on production and new-product projects.
  • Scope and procure equipment and process approaches for new products and manufacturing expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
  • For work in a U.S. office, must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident, lawfully admitted refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.
  • Ability to work in a production environment involving periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work.
  • Ability to occasionally work around moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes.

Nice to have

  • Experience with photolithography systems, processing modules, and associated metrology.
  • Knowledge of III-V and silicon wafer fabrication, solar cell device physics, testing methods, metallurgy, and materials science.
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods, JMP, SQL, SPC, OCAP, 8D, FMEA, and RCCA.
  • Experience with metal lift-off and photochemical interactions involving wet and dry etch processes.
